• The Piano Academy of North Carolina is hosting a festival preparation day (FPD) for all piano students who are planning to participate in spring festivals and competitions.  The event is open to all piano teachers and their students as a service to help the students better prepare for upcoming performance festivals and competitions.
 

• The mission of the PANC Festival Preparation Day is to offer preliminary assessments ahead of the festival season.  The goal is to give students the experience of playing their repertoire in a simulated evaluation setting in front of a qualified adjudicator.  
 

• Participants of ALL ages and levels are invited to play ANY pieces of their choice (concertos are not permitted). An experienced, certified adjudicator will provide written feedback. A suggested rating will be offered by the adjudicator.
 

• Any level of preparedness is accepted. Memorization is NOT required.
 

• Although memorization is optional, students must bring a copy of the music for the adjudicator to follow.  Please have measure numbers indicated in the score.  A number at the beginning of each system is sufficient.
 

• Each participant or duet team has a maximum playing time of 12 minutes. Adjudicator is permitted to stop the participant at the time limit.
 

• Participants have access to Yamaha Clavinova CLP-635s to warm up before their playing times.
 

• The PANC Festival Preparation Day is open to BOTH piano soloists and piano duet teams.
 

• Two studios with Yamaha grand pianos are available for the FPD.  Teachers may select a time slot from either room when registering.  Playing times may NOT be changed after registration submission.  (Actual playing time may be slightly adjusted due to unforeseen circumstances.  Teachers will be notified in such situations.)
 

• One online registration form per solo participant or duet team is permitted.
 

• The Piano Academy of North Carolina Festival Preparation Day is NOT affiliated with any specific organization, competition, or performance festival and is open to students from any piano studio. PANC FPD is purely intended to be an educational experience.  Participation in PANC FPD does not guarantee any particular outcome in the upcoming season.

* A full refund will be issued in the event of cancellation due to inclement​ weather or cancellation for any reason by PANC.
A refund of 50% of registration fee will be issued for cancellation by a teacher before January 24, 2024 at 11:59 PM.  
With exception noted above, no refund will be issued after January 25, 2024.
